COURSE DESCRIPTION

The PTE (Pearson Test of English) exam is an English language proficiency test that assesses the reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills of non-native English speakers. It is designed to evaluate the test-taker’s ability to communicate effectively in an academic or professional setting. The exam is computer-based and uses advanced technology to provide quick and accurate results.

Part 1- Speaking and writing

Section 1 – 1 minute  

• Personal information 

Section 2 –  54-67 mins

• Read aloud 
• Repeat Sentence
• Describe image
• Re-tell lecture
• Answer short question

Section 3-4 – 10 mins each

• Summarize written text

Section 5 – 20 minutes each

• Essay writing

Part 2- Reading – 29-30 minutes

• Multiple-choice, choose single answer
• Multiple-choice, choose multiple answers
• Re-order paragraphs
• Reading: fill in the blanks
• Reading & writing: fill in the blanks.

Part 3- Listening 

Section 1 – Approx. 30-43 minutes

• Summarize spoken text

Section 2 – Approx. 30-43 minutes

• Multiple choice, choose multiple answers
• Fill in the blanks
• Highlight correct summary
• Multiple choice, choose single answer
• Select missing word
• Highlight incorrect words
• Write from dictation

Test Format

Time duration is 2 hours which includes an untimed introduction.

There are three timed parts:
Part Duration
Speaking & writing – 54-67 minutes
Reading – 29-30 minutes
Listening – 30-43 minutes
